  3. FWIW: I have been living in North Carolina since the mid-1990s, but I was born {in 1961} and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. My parents never had any pink plastic flamingos in the yard that I can recall, but we had two palm trees that straddled the sidewalk leading from our front porch. I came to realize in my adult years those two palm trees were always my pink flamingoes.
