  3. Rich Barr → FWIW: My maternal Grandma called her couch/sofa/whatever a "davenport". Every other relative I remember - including both my parents - just said "couch" or "sofa". While I was born & raised in Florida, just about ALL of my relatives on BOTH Mom's and Dad's sides were born in {or lived in} Indiana. So it wasn't just a 'regional' thing....
