  1. I was born in 1961. When I was a kid, my parents occasionally called "Frank," our TV repairman, to come to the house when the TV was 'on the fritz'. An ECKERD DRUGS {pharmacy store chain in Florida} I occasionally shopped at always had a free-to-use vacuum tube testing machine near their entrance. I never had any use for it, but I always remember seeing it anytime I walked into the store.
