One thing that I do NOT see being mentioned is if a hydrogen infrastructure is developed, that can ALSO be used to REFUEL vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, of which there are currently a SH*TLOAD. It will take DECADES for attrition to eventually allow the replacement of all interal combustion engine powered vehicles with electric ones, REGARDLESS of whether those electrics are powered by batteries or hydrogen fuel cells.

  11. FWIW: This is a topic I have been aware of her for quite some time. The existing 'fleet' of internal combustion engine powered vehicles -- both privately owned and commercial -- will take decades to replace. Until they are replaced, they will need a fuel source to power them. IF we build a hydrogen infrastructure to refuel fuel cell vehicles, we can ALSO refuel all those legacy vehicles INSTEAD OF having to continue to rely on fossil fuels for decades.
