Comments by "" (@Allan_aka_RocKITEman) on "I Taped A Thermal Camera To A Drone And Saved $4,500" video.
FWIW: For years I have been interested in finding an AFFORDABLE thermal infrared camera {with remote zoom} for Kite Aerial Photography and Kite Aerial Video. EDIT #1→ HOW DID I MISS THIS VIDEO FOR 13 DAYS??!! 🤦♂️ EDIT #2→ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kite_aerial_photography

@saveitforparts >>> Okay, WHY did I NOT reply to this comment sooner?! I already 👍'd it sometime in the past...🤦♂️ Some people have mounted cameras on kiteboarding kites to shoot video of themselves while kiteboarding. However, most folks use single-line kites for doing Kite Aerial Photography {KAP} and Kite Aerial Video {KAV}. Note that the abbreviation KAP is often used to cover both KAP & KAV. Although a 'KAP rig' can be attached directly to a kite -- early KAP pioneers did this, and some 'KAPers' still do -- most {including me} usually suspended their KAP rig from the kite line, some distance below the kite itself. The KAP rig can then be pointed by Radio/Remote Control, often with some kind of video feed back to the operator to assist with aiming. Certain types of digital cameras allow for direct shutter {for still photography}, zoom, and other features to be controlled remotely. At the very least a small RC servo can be rigged to mechanically press the shutter button.
