  1. FWIW, I have worked in aviation for a long time, and been interested in aviation even longer. Near the end of WWI, the Germans began fielding the parasol-winged {monoplane} Fokker D.VIII fighter, though the D.VIII's fought few if any engagements before the armistice. I realized as I was watching the film: If anything, Pine's character should have stolen a D.VII or D.VIII, not an Eindecker....
