FWIW: Although I enjoyed watching the DVD of KONG: SKULL ISLAND, TWO aviation-related details in that movie stood out to me: (1) The helicopters have to fly through the continuous thunderstorm surrounding the island. Now, most aircraft are designed to withstand lightning strikes. HOWEVER, that DOES NOT work so well when you were flying along with your cabin doors WIDE OPEN. (2) Once they were over the island and encountered KONG, why did they not just GAIN ALTITUDE to keep from being swatted out of the sky by the 'big monkey'?? I mean, they are traveling in HELICOPTERS. Helicopters FLY, and they could certainly fly HIGHER than what was portrayed in the movie....
