  2. FWIW: I am originally from Florida, but I have been living in northeastern North Carolina since 1995. I have friends {a married couple} from high school {in Florida} who lived near Goldsboro, NC for several years until moving back to Florida a couple of years ago. I say all that to preface this: It was NOT until sometime in the last 10<??> years that I FIRST heard about this B-52 crash in January of 1961. I was also RATHER AMAZED to learn SOME BITS of the H-Bomb that buried itself in the ground are STILL in the ground to this day. EDIT: The couple I mentioned moved to NC because the husband was in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB. {He later retired from the USAF while there.} YES, the base REALLY IS named "Seymour Johnson." 😊
