Those aircraft flew so fast, instead of experiencing "jet lag" the pilots probably experienced "jet lead". πππππππ

Apollo 17 flew in 1972, Luna 24 flew in 1976. Are you thinking of Apollo-Soyuz? That was in 1975.
29
@Scott Manley >>> "But you know of course it's really something you just want to put into a museum." Uh, did you mean the ascent stage, or the turd? πππ
28
I am STILL P.O.'d that rocket racing thing never took off {NO pun intended}.

Elon: "HOLD MY LIQUID METHANE." π

Do you mean "recovery" as in regaining health after being ill/injured, or "recovery" as in they pick up ALL the separate remaining pieces to place in his coffin? πππππππ

This just popped into my head: If I ever start playing Kerbal Space Program, I think the FIRST spaceship I create will be called "Kessler Syndrome 1". πππ

FWIW: The question posted on screen listed actor Gregory Peck's name, so I presume the person asking had seen MAROONED. BTW, I thought the XRV was cool...ππ

Dropping the boosters "to land on some Kerbal villagers." In other words the game developers used the CHINESE SPACE PROGRAM for a reference...π
12
Scott mentions launching LM upper ascent stage with the jumper cables still dangling from the main hatch of the upper stage. The FIRST THING I envisioned was someone driving away from a [gasoline/petrol] service station in their vehicle with the refueling nozzle and hose STILL ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE...π
12
"She has such HUGE...tracts of land!"

Rocket scientist pillow talk...πππ

Great video, Scott...π EDIT #1β I have read just a bit about the project to operate manned airships in the atmosphere of Venus. While I have no doubt the technology could be made to work, IF something went wrong and an airship started to descend out of control the humans aboard would be DOOMED. EDIT #2β As I understand it, Hydrogen could be used as a lifting gas on a Venus balloon or airship, in place of Helium. Hydrogen would be cheaper, and since the Venusian atmosphere is mostly COΒ² there would be no chance of a Hindenburg-style accident.
10
Like TACO BELL? π
