  1. Yes, I have noticed this, it seems to be a term for a rank perhaps like 'Sergeant-Major', all the ranks in the IDF are named in Hebrew and I am not sure if this has been anglicised correctly. It is not just Yair, other Israeli sources use this term for what seems to be a junior rank, probably an NCO rank. Originally the 'Major-General' was 'Sergeant-Major General' which is why the rank is junior to 'Lieutenant-General' in most armies. The IDF ranks are not quite the same as with most armies.
