  2.  @garrettjames4011  I played higher level hockey, and I know a lot of guys that pissed away their careers with alcohol. You booze you lose. It also sucks to have a crazy father, especially in hockey. I've seen that too. Ex-pro hockey dads can be harsh, I've known a few kids back in the day with dad's that were pros and they were very harsh.

  3.  @loispeterson657  His dad played for the Admirals, that's why he was born here, but he's still Russian. He lived here a short time before moving back to Europe, then came back when he played junior hockey as a teen, so most of his childhood was in Russia.

  4.  @garrettjames4011  He had pretty solid stats up until 2019 or so when he was with the Canadiens. I'm thinking the dude is just an alcoholic. Eventually you hit a wall and can't keep performing. He's still only 29, and could have still been playing in the NHL had he got his life together. KHL isn't going to be any better for him, they love their vodka over there.

  5. He's in the KHL now. You can make some pretty decent money in that league, but that doesn't change the fact that he's an alcoholic. Probably won't last.

  6.  @bigfatbruce  You can still make a lot of money in the KHL. I grew up playing with a handful of guys that ended up there and made a killing over there.

  8. You can clearly see his stats drop off a cliff about 3 or 4 years ago. You don't just stop being a good hockey player for no reason. He was a pretty solid player, but it looks like alcohol is a problem for him, and has been for a few years now.

  12.  @TracyLindop  People shouldn't be citizens just because they happen to be born here. His dad was playing for the Admirals at the time he was born, that's the only reason he was born here. Same with all the kids of illegals. Deport them all.

  13. It's pretty obvious, he went off the deep end with alcohol. You can see his stats drop off a cliff after the Canadiens traded him. The guy has some demons for sure. What a waste, he still had good years ahead of him, but alcohol is obviously more important to him.

  16. What a way to piss away your NHL career. The guy is a pretty good player, but looks like alcohol is his nemesis and he's been to rehab a few times. Still only 29 years old, and could have had many more years in the NHL if he wasn't such a fuck up. He's playing in the KHL now (Russian league), but will probably screw that up too. You can clearly see his stats drop off about 4 years ago, most likely due to his drinking. Not unique, but a shame to throw away an opportunity like that.
