  1. I think the idea is great, however I think some people aren't honest about how they accumulated that nest egg. I'm willing to bet a lot of them are rich kids who inherited some money, got lucky in a speculative investment, won a big lawsuit, etc., etc. . The math just doesn't work out for me for a lot of these early retirees. If you retire at 30, you're going to need a LOT of money to fund your life for 50 plus years. Also, you can't claim you achieved FIRE when you're still working for money. That's not retired the last I checked lol.
