  1. I served 5 years with two deployments during Iraq/Afghanistan. I don't use it as some kind of crutch, I almost never bring it up. This woman brought her service up probably 15 times, most of which was completely out of context and added nothing to the conversation. She had nothing intellectual to say, so she kept harping on the fact that he didn't serve in the military, as if that somehow makes her the de facto winner. You can be proud of your service, but using it like she does disgusts me. Furthermore, I can almost guarantee she never risked her damn life doing whatever she did.

  2.  @jakeharmon8767  Just like in civilian life, there are people like her in the military, and they're equally worthless. I met wonderful people in the military, but I also met complete loads like her, and there were a lot of them. It's amazing it even functions considering how you basically can't get fired, and the work has to get done one way or another, so the good people have to pick up the slack. I guarantee she was nothing but a problem in her time.

  3. Too many hypersensitive people today. Yes, some people aren’t going to like you, that’s been true since the dawn of time. And yes, some people are even racist, that has always been the case and will always be the case. Going through life constantly on the defensive and constantly playing the victim must get exhausting at some point.

  5. I’ve witnessed people’s quality of life in this country go nowhere but up for the last 43 years I’ve been on this earth, yet this kind of rhetoric is at all time highs. Guys like this are in a prison of their own creation. I don’t know how we fix this mindset. The guy doesn’t even realize that he is the problem. There is no way to convince him of that.

I've watched this over and over, and can't find a good reason for his skate to come up like that. I've played the game my whole life, and that was not natural looking.

  14. Commit adult crime, do adult time. When I was a kid, you would do childish things, but those things involved generally harmless, immature acts. Nobody sees a kid KILL somebody and goes, "well, kids will be kids." The moral compass of that specific community is so far off course.

A long time ago, people used to have kids that young, the difference is those kids were about a million times more mature, and it was out of necessity, ,not irresponsibility. I would venture to say most people today aren't mature enough to have kids until 35, on average, and a lot of them should never have kids period.

Righting the wrongs of people you have no connection to and are separated from by generations, by committing more wrongs is not the path forward. There were wrongs in the past, but people also sacrificed and shed blood to right those wrongs. No nation on earth is perfect. Not a single one. There is no better place on earth for a black person to live right now than the US. But don't take my word for it, you should go find out for yourself.

  25. Not only that, but they don't have a lot of hockey experience over there. As someone that played hockey at a fairly high level, there should be charges. I don't know what charge it would be over there, but something like manslaughter, or negligence that resulted in death. It's not murder, but it's so out of the realm of what would naturally occur on that play, there was no reason for his leg to come up like that. Sometimes skates do come up, but this was not one of those plays. It usually is the result of a player getting his legs taken out on a hip check or a trip while at full speed.

It's usually the result of a player getting hip checked or tripped up while skating full speed, and the momentum of your upper body swings the legs up. Again, this was not that play. If you won't take it from the hockey dad, take it from a hockey player.

  36.  @Jessesgirl0307  Petgrave is from Canada, Adam is from my state of MN. They have both played a handful of games in the NHL, but are kind of borderline players. Don't get me wrong, anyone playing pro hockey is a fantastic hockey player, but if you're playing in this league, you're just not quite up to the NHL level. You usually have a small window to prove yourself here in North America, and some guys will make the decision to continue their career in Europe or Russia because you can earn a lot more than you could playing here in the AHL or ECHL (minor leagues). I've played the game at a higher level and know several people who have played pro, and I'm confident that that wasn't a hockey play, that was a deliberate action. Manslaughter is the appropriate charge here. Petgrave was the most highly penalized player in the league. It's very hard to give him the benefit of the doubt here.

  46. Every law abiding citizen in this country needs to arm themselves and educate themselves. Practice, practice, practice. The judicial system and the police are not protecting us, period. What makes you think they will protect you if they take your 2nd amendment rights away? This should not be a partisan issue. There are plenty of democrats that own guns and you guys need to speak up too. The more good people we have out there, legally armed, the more of these stories will play out and innocent lives will be saved, because god knows the government isn't going to save them.

  50. Communities like this around the country are completely broken and dysfunctional. There is no fixing it. I know because I respond to one just like this, and you literally cannot fix this attitude. It's so ingrained in their psyche. What the hell can you do, but keep doing the job, but retirement has never looked better.
