@pauldichtel6410 He gives generally good advice for the everyday person. His focus is helping the average Joe maintain their vehicle properly and keep it on the road as long as possible. It's not a gearhead channel, it's for normal people who just want to have a reliable mode of transportation, and I think he does it better than anyone on YouTube.

@kmarrasta Great at what? Reviewing cars that 99% of us will never own? Aside from that, the guy isn't an engineer, or even a mechanic, not even close. The only entertaining thing is looking at some of the crazy cars, but I wouldn't base any decision on his opinion.
13
Everyone wants a V8 in a big vehicle, but they’re not listening. They’re going to keep pushing these crappy turbo charged throwaway engines. I’m going to keep fixing my V8 vehicle until I can’t fix it anymore. I want nothing to do with modern vehicles anymore.
12
I already had my eye on this truck. I'm not in the market for a new pickup, but if I was, this one would be at the top of my list.
11
One thing I worry about with these hybrids is the old gas. Has anyone ever looked into this? Not sure it's the greatest thing to have the same gas sit in your tank for months.
10
@MrKillerRC Interesting, I didn't know that. Never owned a hybrid. The one thing I like about this is the ability to remove the seats and use it as a cargo van.

@imnotusingmyrealname4566 Yeah, I just checked out some of their reviews and you’re right, they do have a depressing tone in their videos lol. I don’t know what that’s about. Pretty good reviews but maybe that guy needs to be on antidepressants.

I just got an email from the local dealer that a Type R was marked down to $51K.....from $65K. I'm skeptical an Acura is going for $52K in the real world.
4
You have a 2023, you can't judge a brand new vehicle. Get back to us when it has 100K miles on it.
4
@leerjet18 I thought it was a pretty honest review. There are good and bad things, he highlighted all of them.
4
@mahdavimail I love when people tout things like "my such and such has 20,000 miles with zero issues!". This isn't 1976, you should expect to get at least 200,000 miles out of a modern car, and generally 100,000 relatively trouble-free miles. 9,000 is barely off the lot LMAO!

@zhila5958 They're not "garbage" per say, but there are better choices. As far as the Stellantis products go, the Rams are probably the best, followed by the Wranglers. Those still have some issues, but they're body on frame with real 4x4, not the chinsy crap on these "Jeeps" like you see in the video. I own a last generation Ram. Pretty happy with it, although it's not perfect. But neither are Fords or Chevys, and even the newer Tundras. I spent way less than I would have on some of those other makes. Only issues I've had on my 7 year old Ram is the parking brake and now the exhaust manifold bolts that are starting to loosen. Not the end of the world, but definitely annoying.
3
They don’t have a choice. Idiot politicians that know nothing about cars are forcing their hand.
3
@grawey77 I think you misread my comment
3
I have never heard a single person praise Ford's 10-speed transmission.
3
@tomkatt2321 I think the lifters have a different design, so regardless of whether you install a tuner and shut it off, the design has inherent flaws. At least that's the case with my Ram.
3
I'm 6'3'' 230 lbs. Miatas are a no-go for me. I really wish I could own one though. Ideally I want a 911, but that's never going to happen, so I've always wanted one of these. I've tried them out and it's very difficult for me to sit comfortably.
3
Add pickups to that list of status vehicles. When I was in high school, you could get a basic 1/2 ton for less than $20,000. I think my old Chevy was $17,000, brand new. I get inflation, but vehicle prices do not reflect inflation. I'm guessing with inflation factored in, trucks should cost around $25-$30K now, but they're twice that.
3
You bought a Korean car. You should have expected this. Don't be like all the other people ignoring the warnings about how these cars fall apart. Dump it.
3
Automatic? Why on earth would anyone option an automatic in one of these? Their engines are not powerful, but they are nimble little cars, and a manual is a MUST to make this car fun.
2
Not a fan of cylinder deactivation at all, but I can at least understand why they are doing it on V8's. V6's though? That sounds like a bad idea. Even if you disable those systems, the way they are designed leads to early failure. Just another example of engines being overengineered to meet impossible CAFE standards.
2
Stuff like the driver monitoring system is a dealbreaker for me. I don't want any external safety systems other than my own eyes and common sense. A back-up camera is about as far as I would be willing to go with it.
2
There are inherent flaws to those systems. I'm skeptical that they can engineer their way out of them. I have it on my vehicle. No problems yet, I just make sure I'm changing oil religiously to squeeze as many miles out of it as I can before something inevitably fails then hope that my purchased warranty will cover it, which is debatable. You hear about so many people getting screwed with extended warranties. Long story short, should have done more research before purchasing the vehicle and the warranty, so all I can do is take care of the thing as best I can.
2
Hard to get away from rust up north. I’m not 100% sure rust-proofing the underbody makes a huge difference. Those chemicals get slung everywhere in every nook and cranny in the winter and eventually everything is going to rust. Some cars are definitely worse than others and Dodge/Chrysler products are some of the worst I’ve seen.
2
Agreed. People like us have been left behind. They simply don't care about people that want simple vehicles that are repairable.
2
Get it in a stick. Kids who steal cars won't know how to drive it.
2
Started out so good. V6 engine, nice. Then right away, cylinder deactivation. Why do automakers keep doing this shit? Please stop. Make real engines again.
2
That's the only thing that has stopped me from buying one. I can't fit in the car. Would it be that hard to design one that can fit a taller person?
2
@colbysmith1398 I thought about one of those, but that 3-cylinder engine gives me pause. I think I'm going to end up buying a Mustang as my fun car.
2
@johng.4959 I bought one in ‘17, as basic as I could build it. Still $39,000 and has a lot of stuff I didn’t want but you have no choice like electronic transfer case, gear shifter, MDS.
2
No thanks.
2
I sat in one, and I'm too tall. It would be miserable for me. I don't care if people say it's a chick car, I would buy one if not for the size. I wish they would make them slightly larger to accommodate taller people.
2
I've never owned one, but they are pretty popular here in MN. If I didn't already own a truck, I'd take a serious look at one of these.
2
You didn't have cylinder deactivation, auto stop start, and direct injection though. The auto stop start is annoying, but I'm assuming you can turn it off like in most cars. However the cylinder deactivation is my biggest concern. Something tells me you will not get 350,000 miles out of these engines. I don't even think you will get 250,000 out of them. That said, I would still consider it if I was in the market for a vehicle like this.
2
Toyota is a cult at this point. If you're in any way still tied to Toyota after the mistakes they made with the Tundra and Tacoma, you are brainwashed, and in a cult.
2
@Richrad91OZ-bk5lu I mean, I'm speaking specifically on the trucks. I understand brand loyalty to a point, but when a company deliberately flies in the face of everything that made it good, you have to question your loyalty to said brand. The only Toyota I've ever owned was a 1981 Tercel, so I've never been a Toyota fanboy, but I've always appreciated their trucks. Recalling over 100,000 engines in $60,000 and up pickups is not a small mistake. That would make you question the company as a whole.
2
I had a '14 and it was a nightmare. Never again.

Plastic is cheaper than metal. Just take a look at what their upper brass pull in every year and their bonuses. They don't rake in billions in profit by building quality vehicles, they rake in billions in profit by cheaping out and cutting corners, yet pricing them as premium vehicles. They've brainwashed everyone to think these prices are normal. They are not, they are insane.
1
So is the price tag. IMO the real Ranger is dead. This thing is something else entirely, with Ranger stamped into the tailgate.
1
I am convinced that the placement of components on modern cars is entirely intentional. It is designed that way to push people to buy new cars. When you have to remove an engine, or disassemble half of the car to replace things, repair costs skyrocket, and for a lot of people, they would rather just buy a new car than pay for a $5,000 repair on an older vehicle. I would still repair it, but that's not how most people think. So from a marketing perspective, they understand the psychology of the population. It just really sucks for people that like to repair their cars and drive them as long as possible. We can complain all we want, this is the way it's going, and eventually I think vehicles will be virtually unserviceable for DIY's.
1
I love Jeep's insistence on putting the 4x4 badge on their unibody, AWD small SUV's. In no way, shape or form are these cars 4x4.
1
I knew newer Fords were getting bad, but I’m actually blown away at how poorly designed and cheaply made this is. Wow. And people actually drop $60k on these? There’s a lot I don’t like about my ‘17 Ram, but looking under the hood of my truck is like a dream come true compared to this disaster.
1
@yupperdude1 Vehicles shouldn't have any of it. I don't need or want all that crap. You're both wrong. Enough with the interactive screens. Enough already. I'm there to drive the car and get from point A to point B.
1
@yupperdude1 I have a ‘17 with no touch screen. There should be an option for people to just have a basic setup in the vehicle. HVAC controls and a radio. I’ve never felt that I’ve needed all that crap that new models have.
1
That's the way all the small trucks from that era were. You don't buy a small pickup for people to ride long distances in the back anyways. Either way, it's a non-issue in this segment.
1
A rubber belt that controls the oil…that is soaked in oil. What could possibly go wrong there?
1
I've been warming up to Mazda in the last few years, they look like very nice vehicles. That 4-cylinder in this though is the big drawback. This thing needs a V6, plain and simple.
1
Those ecodiesels are not reliable, I think they're discontinuing them.
1
They're going to be making these in Mexico soon so enjoy a drop in quality. Also the batteries themselves are dropping in quality. No thanks.
1
Why not just buy a slightly used Mustang GT for this price? I don't get the pricing on this little go-kart. They're fun cars, but again, the pricing is insane. It is not priced appropriately.
