  10. Hard to have a lot of crime when there are 200 people in town, and the rest of the population all live 10 miles apart. Most of the problems in rural areas is just substance abuse issues, particularly in poorer rural areas, but they don't have much in the way of violent crime for the most part.

  17.  @marthastewwart  There are varying degrees of dementia/alzheimers/cognitive issues. They don't all present the exact same way. As someone with a parent with these problems, I'm almost certain that she has something going on. She is having a very difficult time processing what the officer is telling her, and a lot of her answers make no sense, and just her general demeanor is very similar to what I have experienced with this disease.

  22. I don’t break the law, therefore I have little to zero interaction with police, other than my job as a FF. It’s amazing when you just go about your day without being an asshole, how little the police pay attention to you. So much so that I think I’ve been pulled over once in the past 15 years and got a warning for speeding. No big deal. Was polite, showed him my license and insurance, and that was that. On with my day.

  26. It is crazy how some people never progress past HS. I have a few family members that are in their 70's that are STILL in that mindset. It's honestly exhausting being around people like that, especially when they drink.

  32. It’s a combination of many things. A lot of which we can’t control, but the enabling needs to stop. People are free to act however they want, but that doesn’t mean we as a society should have to put up with it. Start truly holding people accountable, and just maybe we will start seeing a change.

  33. I'm sick and tired of it. I should technically have PTSD, but I don't, and I've never claimed it, looking for sympathy points. You hit the nail on the head. People are claiming PTSD for basically just stressful life events that everyone goes through at some point. It's just pathetic. And you can add "anxiety" to this list as well. Don't even get me started on that one.

We had a Metro Transit officer get fired a few years back for asking someone on the train what their immigration status was. Imagine getting punished for trying to protect the public.

  43. Yes, that pissed me off. He was very professional, where a lot of guys probably would have lost it on him, but he should have thrown the book at him. Never should have just blown off the traffic violations because his printer was down. So what, find another printer. Also, this guy definitely should have been charged for the threats on the officer as well.
