They're not realistically repairable. Almost nobody works on them. Yeah there might be some mechanic on youtube that claims he can fix them, but good luck finding a local mechanic that has any idea how to fix one.

@roboticvenom1935 "Premium" fuel isn't "better" fuel.

Now talk about reliability and ease of repair. That is what impacts 90% of car buyers, not how great it works the first couple years after purchase. Give me a MT any day over this. I will take the drawbacks, because when you're looking for a CVT replacement (because nobody can work on them in the real world), I'll still be driving my MT down the road.

What you were saying in the beginning didn't jive with the faster rear wheel spin. I'm not an engineer so take that with a grain of salt, but I didn't understand what you were trying to say about it.

It's not the last hurrah. Where are they going to find all the lithium to make everything electric? That's a more finite resource than oil is after over a 100 years of pumping it out of the ground. Oil can last for another 500-600 years, and that's assuming we don't find more, which I'm sure we will.

As EV's stand today, they are not practical enough for me. Charging time being the most important, range is another issue. It takes me 5 minutes to fill my tank up. Extreme cold (which affects me half of the year where I live) is the enemy of battery range. Come up with an affordable, convenient and practical EV and I'll buy into it, until then, ICE for me.

I bought my Ram with a Hemi for less than this in 2017. 8 years later, it's been a great TRUCK, despite everything you hear about Rams. The only problem I've had is the parking brakes seize up if you live in an area that uses salt. You just spent more money on a car with a 5 foot bed LMAO.

If in doubt, just change your oil. I wouldn't go over 5,000 miles, regardless. If you're driving an old car and using conventional, 3,000 miles. Changing oil is easy and relatively cheap compared to having to tear an engine apart.

Regular ICE engines are fine. I don't know why we are insistent on hybrids and EVs. Modern ICE engines are very efficient, and if someone would just build one, reliable. We can build a very reliable and efficient ICE engine, that's been the case for many years. Nobody will do it these days. It's disgusting.
