  1. I'm a truck owner. Bought it new for $38,000 in 2017. Paid it off in 18 months. Haven't had a payment in 7 years, do all the maintenance myself, and plan on driving it for another 8-10 years. And yes, I do actually use the truck to do truck things lol. Unfortunately, you can't buy a truck at that price in 2024, so this is probably the last truck I ever buy new.

A skilled tradesman makes more than most white collar workers, with little to no student loan debt. Are there engineers, doctors and lawyers that are very high earners? Yes. Are ALL of them very high earners? Absolutely not.

  9. It's kind of a catch 22 situation now. So many people have degrees in fields that are oversaturated, that jobs that never used to require degrees, or only required a 2 year degree, are asking for bachelors or masters degrees, simply because they can. There are so many people in the job pool with degrees, might as well hire them instead of someone with no degree. For the folks with no degree, and no skills, it's pretty tough out there.

  11. It's hard to believe people can be this stupid, but here we are. These are the same people that want me and you to fund their college educations and retirements, because they want to act like children and never plan, or save a dime they make.

  13. You can always just get a REAL job, with a REAL skill, in a market with REAL demand. Nobody is teaching these kids this, and they're coming out of college expecting everything, because most of them have gotten everything their whole lives. Then they are shocked when the real world hits them in the face. Unless you are an extremely smart kid, going into an in demand STEM career, spend as little time and money on college as possible. Go into a real trade that is in demand, and there are quite a few of them, and you will be making more money than you know what to do with. Eventually you will be established in that field and have enough experience to start your own business. Yeah, it's hard work, but last I checked, you usually have to earn your money. The next step, is learning how to make the money you have earned, work for you with investments. But that's a whole other paragraph.
