You’ve gotta give Lesnar credit for attempting a career in the UFC at an older age. Took a lot of guts to go up against the guys he faced.

events igil Honestly, all pro athletes are on something. With millions of dollars on the line, it would be naive to think otherwise. Even pro golfers believe it or not. There are PEDs for just about anything. Being juiced doesn’t make you a good fighter or a better hitter in baseball, it gives you a slight boost, but you still have to perform the task with skill.

@fraerot Yes, he was a wrestler, and started training for MMA way later than most guys that find success in the UFC. I thought he did ok despite that, but in the end, couldn't overcome superior fighters with more comprehensive backgrounds in martial arts. Wrestling is a great base, but you need more to be a champion in the UFC.

@VadersSon77 What exactly is a "real fighter"? I'm pretty sure anyone with the balls to step in the ring or the octagon and compete is a real fighter.

@namelessanomaly3946 Not too smart, but yeah he definitely has heart. I don’t know if I’d risk my life to win a fight and some money, which he didn’t really need.

@VadersSon77 But...he did win some matchups, and to say the other guys weren't on roids is naive. If someone can win a fight at that level, they deserve some respect, regardless.

@VadersSon77 Kind of sounds like you're gatekeeping, because at the end of the day, it only matters who wins. If a brawler beats someone with extensive martial arts pedigree, the brawler is a better fighter.

@Trackformers I saw him wrestle at the local university here. He was always a monster. Everyone he faced was roided up so who really cares. He’s a naturally large person and was a hell of a wrestler. I’m not a fanboy, I just like watching good fights.

@keemoify In most professional sports, 34 is reaching the end of your career. He started at the end of most guy’s primes.

@ Yes, he was actually risking his life going back in the ring. His choice, but not worth it IMO.

@Mark-y4h7h A better career than 99% of the population. A jealous hater is not a good look. The guy is a legend. One of the best NCAA wrestlers of all-time, potential NFL player, UFC champion. A hell of a lot more than you've done in your life I'm sure.

I have to start watching UFC again. Haven’t really watched in 10 years. Awesome fight.
