  1. God didn't do anything, He sent the flood as a judgement because mankind had gotten so evil. They had a chance to be saved, Noah preached 120 years and still none would listen. God didn't want to send the flood. Also after the flood God set a rainbow as a promise that He will never destroy the earth with a flood, next time it will be fire.
