Larry Elder is GREAT! Very smart man. School choice.....Republicans love it. We tried it in my county in Florida several years back and quickly dismissed it. Let me explain why it does not work. Take Larry's example, Crenshaw high. We have some bad schools in some bad areas in my county here too, like Crenshaw high. NOBODY wants their children to go to a bad school. But somebody HAS TO go. I live in a nice area and I expect nice schools. This might sound selfish, but if a kid from a bad area gets to go to the school in the area where I live, that means some kid, maybe MY kid, has to go to the bad school in the bad part of town. I saw it happen. It sucked. It doesn't work. Plus the bussing logistics are a nightmare. Want your kids in better public schools? Work harder or get a better job and move to an area with good schools, like I did.
