  3.  @A4Natty  When they joined NATO Russia was weak and their complains ignored. Historically all invasions suffered by Russia from foreign powers took place through Ukraine due to its geography. Also the baltic countries do not represent a threat to Russia, small population, economy and army so no concern there. If you doubt the reasons Russians will never tolerate NATO's military forces at their borders with Ukraine ask americans why they did not tolerate Soviet military forces in Cuba.
