Taiwan historically belongs to the whole of the millennial Chinese society and not just to a fraction of it. There is no such thing as Taiwanese people they are all Chinese with a different label! No amount of foreign support or weapons will change this reality!

@trelane88 There is no such thing as people of Taiwan they are all Chinese living in Chinese historical territory.

@trelane88 To the people people of Catalunya no-one gave this "right" because Catalunya is integral part of Spain... The same goes for Scotland... Why should it be any different to the Island of Taiwan?

@trelane88 "do you know who gets to decide that?" The people of China, all of them not just a small fraction of them! And the majority chose reunification and it is not business for foreigners to have a say.

@KingCreeper-1026 They voted no then but what if they vote yes now? That may be the reason no one allows them to vote again. At the end of the day it is London who decides not the Scottish people.

@KingCreeper-1026 "China to Taiwan: 0" A referendum is totally unnecessary: People in Mainland China: 1,454,644,079 People in Taiwan: 23,313,550 The majority of Chinese people have already decided now only the Chinese in Taiwan need to opt for reunification in one piece or as a pile of rubble!

@KingCreeper-1026 "UK to Scotland: 1" Why the government in London refuses to run it again? At the end of the day London decides!

@icutthings649 Democracy is not more important than territorial integrity. After WWII Japan returned all Chinese occupied land to China except for Taiwan due to American interference. The time for reunification has passed already and will take place peacefully or with a little help of the PLA. The Chinese in Taiwan are to decide if reunification will happen in one piece or as a pile of rubble and it has nothing to do with democracy!

@KingCreeper-1026 That is fantasy, no independence, they are all Chinese and the status of Taiwan is not even recognized by the UN as a country. Well, not up to me to decide, the Chinese leadership, representing the 1.4 billion Chinese are the ones to carry out the desires of the majority of the Chinese people and reunification is their legitimate decision. The only thing left is for Taiwan to decide if reunification will take place in one piece or as a pile of rubble. The sooner the better!

If Taiwan believes it can rely on selfish America or its subservient NATO poodles it may well end just like Afghanistan and Ukraine! It is up to the taiwanese leadership to decide if reunification with China will happen in one piece or as a pile or rubble!
