  2. The nuclear forces wore ascots as part of their uniform clear back in the 1960's. Ascots were a fashionable item back then. The army and navy wears them in ceremonial uniforms to this day. There is nothing inherently gay about the ascot. That is like saying wearing a necktie is a gay thing.
