  1. Colonization of Mars at this time is a impossibility and a pipe dream. That planet is DEAD. Dead to past the microbial level. DEAD for the last 3-4 BILLION YEARS. So DEAD that it is considered sterile, the ionizing radiation has taken care of that. That planet has no magnetosphere to protect the planet from the Solar wind, so the atmosphere was stripped from it over billions of years, till there is almost nothing left. Another contributing factor is that Mars is only about HALF the size of the Earth. Which makes it too small and with not enough mass to hold a atmosphere for any period of time. These insurmountable proplems are just the start. And don't even get me started on just HOW do you get there before the solar wind gives you cancer and kills you. Or bone and muscle loss during the as much as 4 year journey, which depends on where Mars/Earth alignment is in its orbit. Colonization of Mars is a Musk pipe dream.
