Try auido books. Different processing and retention parts of the brain. That might help.

@tsevere Dad wasn't illiterate by any means. Just couldn't retain info well, when reading the printed word. Numbers ... now there is where he shined, like a class M star with a -1.82 magnitude . Dad and brother, was and are, brilliant with equations and numbers. Both made a VERY good living working within their strengths and identifying their weakness then figuring work arounds.

@tsevere So don't get discouraged or lose heart. There are always work arounds for things like this. Auido books can be a game changer.

@tsevere Nope. I love reading and the printed page. Family member has Dyslexia pretty badly. Read to him or auido books and he retains info like a sponge. Comes off my father's side . He received his Masters in Structural Engineering by my mother reading the texts to him in the early 1950's . Dyslexia is a terrible thing if you have it in large parts, so you figure out work arounds. Luckily it skipped most of my family members.
