I was born in 1942 and clearly remember growing up in the 40s and fifties.What a wonderfull time to be alive then!.Total freedom to roam as children.The whole countryside to roam at will without fear Saturday morning cinema shows.Asking total strangers to 'take you in 'to see a film which required an adult to accompany you.The rush to leave the cinema before the 'national anthem ' began( which if you were too late you stopped till it was played.)My father was always keen to leave early not being too fond of all that pomposity.!Happy days!
