@iggle6448 Governments are the result of our poor voting 'choices' Political parties vieing for government these past 60 years ( that I am aware of) have always responded to demands for more 'welfare'.We are where we are as a result of this.The 'people' (to quote H Macmillan) have never had it so good' Its just that they have been constantly told that 'they deserve more' so more dependant on government hand outs they have become(and demand)

Meant by that that politicians are prone to make promises to the electorate thst cannot be met but over time more and mote increases in welfare are in fact incrementally increased ovrt the years.Of course never as much as 'the left' would like but nontheless those continual increases do make a difference.(even if only in expectations/) As a people we are better off than our forfathers could have ever dreamt about.There remains a gap between the haves and the have nots.Ignorance plays a very large part in peoples lives.There is collossal waste in government that is nevet addressed also.
