  2. You don't want a water-tight seal, though. Stopping the flow of the Atlantic into the Mediterranean would be an absolute catastrophe. We only want to slow it down. Even Herman Sorgel's plan to lower the sea level by 200 meters would've ended up being quite awful. But if a dam were actually built, the goal would only be to lower the sea level by one meter or less.

  3. Aside from not actually having any link to the Bermuda Triangle, there's no evidence that the Ellen Austin story actually happened. The Ellen Austin was a real ship, but there's no record of if ever having lost crew during a voyage, as would've been the case if this story had really happened.
