Claiming that this is a "trivial issue" or a "legal technicality" is the kind of dishonesty that will only come from die-hard Trump supporters. Trump's costant crimes are the most serious ones ever committed by a President. All of this makes Watergate look like jaywalking by comparison. So quite trying to gaslight peole into thinking this is a minor issue. And as for "firing up" Trump's base, they were already "fired up" by his racism. They can't get any more fired up. What impeachment does is also fire up the Democrats' base. Oh, and FYI. If the event that the Senate would actually remove Trump from office, he almost certainly would be barred from running again in 2020. The Senate has the power to do that to anybody who's impeached, and that part only requires a simple majority rather than a 2/3 vote.
