5:30 Odd that you don't mention those three countries are all ruled by military juntas. With the democratically elected governments removed, it's an open question how popular those anti-French juntas really are.

@dulguunjargal1199 French settlers never did outnumber the natives in Algeria. What the issue was Algeria was that for a century, it was impossible for native Algerians to become French citizens. By the time France decided that maybe they should stop being racist and offered to let Algerians be citizens instead of mere "subjects", it was already far too late. The majority of Algerians were already done with France.

@AL-lh2ht France and Algeria both ended up worse off. And that was France's fault. If they'd Even as paternalist as France's stated colonial ideology of a "civilizing mission" was, if they'd actually meant it instead of being hypocritical and making it impossible for Algerians to become French citizens, that would at least have been far better than how every other European country treated Africa.
