@des_moines840 What "ex-president" would that be? If you mean ex-prime minister Giuseppe Conte (an actual Italian would surely know the difference between a president and a prime minister), his friendship with Russia probably has something to do with him being a former prime minister. Even the right-wing Meloni can see that Russia is untrustworthy and an enemy of Europe.
