  1. Whenever you hear somebody praising Davis and the Confederacy these days (and in the South, you do hear it), it's a safe bet they're a Republican. The Republican Party has abandoned its heritage, and embraced the very thing their party was originally founded to fight against: Southern racism.

  2. 150 years ago, the Republican Party was the party of Abraham Lincoln. Today, it's the party of Jefferson Davis. Amazing how things change, isn't it?
