  1. Murder rates in America continue to go steadily down. One mass shooting in which 20-30 people are killed is not, in fact, worse than 20-30 individual murders. For some reason, Cenk, you seem to think that it is, and you act like gun violence is increasing when it's actually decreasing. Also, gun control doesn't work, and it's not the president's job to ban guns.

  2. Then why is it that Japan, which has almost no guns, is a world leader in suicides, while America (which has lots of guns) is not? That just proves that culture is a HUGE factor. Also, having a gun does not make you more likely to commit suicide. If you're already suicidal, having a gun does make you more likely to succeed in your suicide attempt. That's obvious. But it doesn't make you more likely to attempt suicide in the first place.

  5. No, it doesn't ban them. It taxes and registers them. And you have to buy them through properly licensed dealers (most dealers don't deal in NFA weapons, so they just get the regular Type 1 FFL, without the Class 3 tax stamp). The tax isn't such a big deal anymore because it hasn't been adjusted for inflation, but it's not as if NFA weapons are unrestricted.
