No, not every country uses torture. Mostly just totalitarian dictatorships. And the US under Bush. And one of the major thinks they were looking for when waterboarding the al-Qaeda prisoners was "information" that Iraq was involved in 9/11. The Bush administration damn well knew it wasn't true, but they desperately wanted a confession that effect from a captured terrorist, so they could parade the confession around the media.

By that "logic" we should let murderers be the ones to decide whether murder is a valid way of settling a dispute. The torturers are the absolute last people who can be trusted to give a fair assessment of whether their crimes were justified.

Your opinion is worthless because it's contradicted by the facts. Torture did not produce important or valuable information.

It's not "insider" info. Even Donald Rumsfeld has admitted that waterboarding didn't get them any info about OBL's location.

So what information was obtained that you think was useful? Please don't recite the lie that information from waterboarding had a role in finding Osama bin Laden, because it didn't.

Here's a little bit of info you might have been unaware of: waterboarding is not a "mild" form of torture. It wasn't invented because torturers wanted to not be as brutal to their victims. It was invented so that the victims WOULDN'T HAVE VISIBLE INJURIES. So that when they paraded the prisoner before the public, it wouldn't be obvious that the confession was extracted via torture.
