  4. The problem is that your fear is leading you to support things that don't actually make you safer. Just like how fear of terrorism once led to most Americans supporting things like the Patriot Act and the Iraq War.

  5. That's not actually true. Spree shootings have for decades been occurring at a rate of about twice a month. It's just that in 2012, several of them were higher profile.

  6. I'm not remotely conservative, genius. And the fact remains that the terrorist watch list is of dubious reliability. Also, I don't think it's a good idea to take away any constitutional right without due process (meaning at least a hearing before a judge). BTW, ex-cons can vote. Some states allow them to return to the voter rolls the instant their sentence is completed.
