  1. 1. Assault weapon bans are not "progressive", they're regressive. It's a flagrantly reactionary position. It's policy based on irrational fear, not logic. 2. Your talk about "vote right after Newtown" indicates that you KNOW it's based purely on emotion, because you wanted to rush the vote so that emotion would carry the day and logic wouldn't enter into the equation. Rather like how the Patriot Act was pushed to a vote almost immediately after 9/11.
