  1. jonathon batchelor Mass shootings are a tiny factions of murders. And a tiny fraction of gun violence. It's just that they get all the media attention. The idea that we need to take such an extreme reactionary step to deal with something that is by no means a national crisis just doesn't make sense. Especially given that murder rates continue to nosedive. You'd get the impression from videos like this that gun violence is increasing, but the opposite is true.

  2. jonathon batchelor Doing something just for the sake of doing something very rarely leads to good policy. And mass shootings, which are a faction of a percent of all murders and of all shootings, are not a huge crisis that's needing national action to solve.
