  1. The idea that Lanza's mother wouldn't have bought 30-round magazines if the ban was in place is ridiculous. It was only sales of new magazines that was banned. The many millions of magazines of greater than 10 round capacity that were already in circulation continued to be sold during the assault weapon ban. There's no reason to think Lanza's mother wouldn't have bought those. Also, "so many" mass shootings end with the shooting getting tackled while reloading? That happened ONCE.
