Paul Ryan has vanished because Joe Biden demolished him so thoroughly in that VP debate. Republicans spent so much time building up Ryan as if he were their smart policy guy and obsessively declaring Biden to be an idiot, that having Biden trounce Ryan just ruined the whole thing for him.
