And you're a moron because you think the "competition" in an unregulated health insurance market would be anything other than "which insurance company can screw over its policy holders the most efficiently?" Screwing over policy holders is, after all, the primary business model for health insurance. They want to maximize the premiums taken in from their policyholders, and minimize the amount paid back for actual health care.

Uwot Mate I suppose, dumbass, that's why in Canada it would be political suicide for anybody who tried to abolish "socialized" health care, rather like how voters would react if Social Security and Medicare were abolished in the US. The health care system in Canada is demonstrably superior to that in the the US. But go on, keep being a whiny, entitled little bitch, complaining that people have the audacity of actually expecting you to pay your taxes just like every other citizen does.

  4. ETworldjone That's asinine. A profit motive inherently brings prices up, to the highest level that the market will bear. It's the very existence of a for-profit health care industry that makes health care so much more expensive and less efficient in the United States than in every other industrialized nation.

  5. ETworldjone Profit motive sets prices at whatever the highest level is that people will be willing to pay. If the average consumer would be willing to pay $3000 for a product and you charge only $1500, you're cutting down on your profits.
