  1. The castle doctrine has nothing to do with ALEC. It's a concept that's far older than the United States. It was a well-established part of English common law before the first colonists ever arrived in America. BTW, from what I understand Diren Dede entered their house after midnight. There's no good reason for a 17-year-old boy to even be out on the streets at that hour. Setting a trap to attract burglars and kill them is bullshit, but there's no way Dede was just trying to be friendly.
