@sneed457 The Eastern Roman Empire only held Rome from 554 to 751. But the Empire survived until 1453. For the vast majority of its history, the Eastern Roman Empire didn't include Rome. That's why Constantinople was considered "Second Rome" or "New Rome". Thus, by capturing Constantinople, the Ottomans controlled the new Rome.

@jaydunno8266 The American Southwest is actually where camels first evolved. It was still an excellent environment for them in the 19th century. But despite the obvious merit of the idea, with camels offering significant advantages over mules, in the post-Civil War era the fact that it had been championed by then-Secretary of War Jefferson Davis was probably not helpful in getting it restored.
