She was ready in time for Jutland, after all, and had the same armament and roughly the same protection as the QEs.

  3. 1:15:50 As a matter of fact, the 40mm L/70 Bofors gun is still widely used for CIWS purposes. The most prolific would be the Italian Dardo system, a twin 40mm L/70 automated turret, but Bofors is still offering their own mounts as well.

  5. 2:30:20 One thing you're overlooking for an AA cruiser on a Wichita hull is that while none were ever built, the concept for a 5"/38 triple turret did exist. Several of the early designs for the North Carolina-class battleships called for it. And if you're replacing the Atlantas with an over 10,000 ton design, the use of triple turrets would make a lot of sense.
