@TheKingofbrooklin Any ship with multiple main gun turrets can theoretically fire those main guns at 2 ships at once. But that's generally not how battle lines fought each other. Each ship would normally focus all their guns on a single enemy ship, in hopes of sinking or disabling it as quickly as possible.

If Ark Royal had survived WW2, there's a good chance the 2nd Audacious-class CV would've kept her original planned name HMS Irresistible. Another likely option, given that historically she was renamed after a CV lost in battle in WW2, would be HMS Glorious.

Or if Queen Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh (CVA-01 and CVA-02) had been built. If the Royal Navy had that kind of capability, the Falklands War probably never would've happened. It was the perception of declining British power that made Argentina's junta think they could get away with seizing the islands. And if they'd waited for 1 more year to invade, they probably would've gotten away with it. Because by 1983, HMS Hermes would've been out of service and HMS Invincible would've become HMAS Australia.
