  1. Very much so. I-1 outweighed and outgunned Kiwi and Moa combined. If not for the depth charge damage, I-1 would also be 5 knots faster than them. Turns out it was a rather poor decision by I-1's captain to dive rather than fighting it out on the surface.

  2. So IJN doctrine allowed for Zuikaku's air group to be loaned out to an air base, but loaning Shoukaku's air group to Zuikaku to allow her participation at Midway would've been unacceptable?
