  1. In case anybody was wondering, the longest-serving of the Fletcher-class was ARM Cuitláhuac (ex-USS John Rodgers, DD-574), which remained in service with the Mexican Navy until 2001.

  2.  @WALTERBROADDUS  And there was also the last Gearing-class destroyer in service, ARM Netzahualcóyotl (ex-USS Steinaker, DD-863), which was decommissioned in 2014. She was scheduled to be sunk as an artificial reef, but as of 2020 that hadn't been done yet and I can't find any info more recent. With their 2 Fletchers and 2 Gearings gone, Mexico replaced them with...more US Navy hand-me-downs, in the form of 4 Knox-class frigates.
