  1. Habbakuk wasn't going to be long enough for Vulcans to take off and land conventionally. The Vulcans would need to be adapted with arrestor hooks and catapult gear. Which makes it even more epic.

  2. As far as the Black Sea Fleet goes...unfortunately for Russia, that would require passing through the Bosporus, and by treaty with the Ottoman Empire the Black Sea Fleet wasn't allowed to do that.
