  1. The reality is that Trump just hates being told "no." He suggested the US buying Greenland near the end of his first term and was offended to be rejected out of hand. That's really all there is to it. The nonsense about "needing it security" is just a flimsy excuse. The Republican Party goes along because they're the cult of Trump now.
