  1. Yes, it was clearly a huge mistake for Somaliland to join Somalia. And they've been trying to get out of it for decades. If they have to suck up to Trump to accomplish that, you gotta do what you gotta do.

  4. Puntland is separate from Somaliland, and while itself de-facto independent, Puntland doesn't actually want to separate from the rest of Somalia like Somaliland does.
