  1. The "best" part about the absurd situation that led to Britain seizing Hong Kong is...the whole concept of "trade deficit bad, trade surplus good" is idiotic. It doesn't actually harm a country if they're importing more than they export. So Britain destroyed the Qing Dynasty and deliberately addicted tens of millions of Chinese people to opium for literally no reason.
